What is Restylane?

Restylane® is a dermal filler approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in smoothing moderate to severe fine lines, folds, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
As we age, our skin naturally loses collagen and elastin, which are fibroblast proteins that our body produces to help with wound healing and generating new connective tissues. With that in mind, when our skin loses collagen and elastin, its structural integrity is weakened and compromised, leading to wrinkles, folds, fine lines, skin laxity, and a host of other skin issues.

How long do Restylane fillers last?

For most patients, the results from Restylane® fillers last for around 12 months, with a possible touch-up around six to nine months after the initial injection. Factors that could affect how long your Restylane® results last include the rate of your metabolism, your skincare routine, and the depth of your wrinkles, fine lines, or folds.

What is the difference between Juvederm and Restylane?

While both Restylane® and Juvéderm® use hyaluronic acid to correct cosmetic issues in the facial region, they work in slightly different ways and for different purposes. Whereas Restylane® is used to improve wrinkles, fine lines, and folds around the nose and mouth, Juvéderm® is primarily used to restore lost volume in the cheeks.
